Rad's story begun on February
3, 1981
in Torun, Poland. His musical roots can be traced back to his early childhood. In 1986 his family moved to Germany. This was a move that would shape Rad into the incredible talent that he is today. "Germany really opened a lot of doors for me in terms of music influences. At the time, 80s commercial dance was all over the radio and television, so you couldn’t ignore it. I remember sitting there with headphones on blasting music, while all the other kids would play outside… From then on, I was hooked." Rad’s biggest influence was to come in the late 80's. At age 7, |

Rad still recalls how he was moved by the musical genius of Jean Michelle
Jarre's live performances. "The way he used the synthesizers to create his
own sounds was amazing to me. I knew that electronic music would one day be my
true calling."
Rad was determined to realize his dreams of creating his very own brand of
electronic music, so determined in fact, that he taught himself how to play the
piano. At 17, he was ready to take it all to the next level. After saving up
enough money, he bought his first instrument, a Roland Mc 303. Fast forward to
1999. Rad received his first “big break” with an official release on BMG
Music Canada as “DJ Rad” with his remix production of Danilla "Rescue Me".
Since then, DJ Rad quickly became a household name amongst internet fans from
across the globe. With a string of highly successful remixes and productions
under his belt, such as Joee "A Question of Time" and Radikal DJ’s "If
Tomorrow Never Comes", DJ Rad seemed virtually unstoppable! Rad teamed up
with the beautiful and already successful, popular Canadian artist Zoe. They
released their first single together “Come Home”. This was to be the start of a
very successful and lucrative collaboration between the two. "Come Home" was an
“out of the box”, instant smash hit! It quickly climbed the charts in Asia,
managing to not only stay on the charts for a mind-blowing 14 weeks, but also
capture the coveted 1 position for two consecutive weeks in a row! Not bad for a
young, self taught, musician.
In 2004, Rad released his debut album, cleverly titled DJ Rad "The Best
Hits Collection" on EQ Music, Singapore. The album featured most of the
singles that had been receiving a considerable amount of airplay on radio in
Asia and North America. In 2005, Rad created his own company Northern Light
Records. Rad has enjoyed continued success with the re-release of "Come Home
(2K6)" to coincide with his very first music video, which he actually stars
in as well. Now in 2007, with the help of US label ISV
Entertainment, Rad is armed and ready to show the world what he is truly
made of. With an arsenal of brand new tracks and exciting projects up his
sleeve, Rad sets out to prove once and for all that DJ Rad is here to stay!
Be sure to check out his brand new single and video DJ Rad feat Zoe "Sweet
Serenity" from the forthcoming album "Second Look" in stores soon.
Rad Drobny (DJ Rad) currently resides in Canada, also home base for Northern
Light Records.
